Justice Consultancy International, the “Gold Standard” in consulting services, is pleased to announce the addition of Zainab Hawa Bangura and Herman von Hebel to our team. Joining International Chief Prosecutors David M. Crane and Brenda J. Hollis as Principals of JCI, “Mrs. Bangura and Mr. von Hebel will greatly enhance the already wide range of consultancy services available to our clients,” according to David Crane. JCI provides professional, independent, impartial and discreet services to both public and private clients. Former Chief Prosecutor Hassan Jallow is on leave from JCI while he serves as Chief Justice for The Gambia.
Zainab Hawa Bangura, having most recently served as the United Nations Special Representative of the UN Secretary General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, has nearly 30 years of policy, diplomatic and practical experience in the field of insurance, governance, conflict resolution; including conflict and post conflict countries around the world. Prior to serving as the Secretary General’s Special Representative, Ms. Bangura held the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sierra Leone and as the Minister of Health and Sanitation for Sierra Leone. “Joining David, Brenda and the team of JCI, not only gives me an opportunity to work once more with people I have come to admire and respect because of their continuous and consistent fight for justice around the world, it will also allow me to continue to pursue my passion of being a voice for the most vulnerable victims of injustice around the world," added Bangura.
Herman von Hebel recently completed his five-year term as Registrar for the International Criminal Court having also served as Registrar for the Special Court for Sierra Leone and the Special Tribunal for Lebanon. Mr. von Hebel participated actively in the elaboration of the ICC Statute and was Chair at the Rome Conference of the working group defining war crimes and was Chair of the Preparatory Committee after Rome defining the Elements of Crimes. He has extensive managerial, legal, and diplo- matic experience. Herman von Hebel has worked, and published, on is- sues of rule of law, human rights, international humanitarian law, criminal law, and the creation and function of international criminal courts and tri- bunals. As stated by von Hebel, “I am delighted to join David, Brenda and Zainab in JCI. We are all Driven by the same passion for fair and effective justice and for the protection of vulnerable victims of grave crimes wherever they have taken place.”
